Tajikistan launched open skies policy for foreign airlines
Tajikistan lifted most restrictions on foreign airline access to its four international airports to boost connectivity and competition on 12 June 2025
Turkish Airlines became the first to respond, announcing increased flights to Dushanbe starting in August 2025
Uzbekistan Airways is set to lease new aircraft in 2026
Uzbekistan Airways signed a lease with China Aircraft Leasing Company for two Airbus A321neo aircraft set for delivery in 2026 with full-flat business class seats and Airspace Premium cabin
The new aircraft will enhance the airline’s fleet modernization strategy, offering onboard internet, advanced entertainment, and improved passenger comfort
Uzbekistan Airways to resume flights to Israel
Uzbekistan Airways will resume direct regular passenger flights ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Tel Aviv, Israel VV on 1 July 2025
Flights were previously suspended due to regional conflict and will now operate following stabilization in the region
Qanot Sharq connects Uzbekistan and Indonesia
Privately-owned Uzbek airline Qanot Sharq operated the first direct passenger flight ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Bali, Indonesia VV on 1 July 2025
Regular flights now operate once every ten days, offering full travel packages including airfare, hotel, transfers, insurance, and eSIM

Uzbekistan is set to diversify export routes amid global tensions
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the urgent need to diversify Uzbekistan’s export routes and redirect cargo to safer ports amid rising instability in the Middle East on 23 June 2025
Relevant ministries were instructed to support exporters, coordinate alternative logistics with partners, and maintain domestic market stability
China to build smart logistics hubs in Uzbekistan
One of China’s largest express delivery and logistics company ZTO Express plans to develop smart logistics warehouses, airport facilities, and industrial parks in Uzbekistan under a new infrastructure partnership on 3 July 2025
Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport proposed additional cooperation including training programs and logistics centers in Navoi region, Uzbekistan
