IndiGo is set to launch direct flights to Tashkent
Indian low-cost airline IndiGo will launch direct regular passenger flights ex Mumbai to Tashkent VV on 1 August 2025
Flights will operate four times a week using Airbus A320 aircraft
Centrum Holding group expanded its airline fleet
Uzbek cargo subsidiary airline My Freighter, owned by Centrum Holding received its eighth Boeing 767-300ER equipment, reinforcing its lead as the country’s largest cargo carrier on 29 May 2025
Uzbekistan’s passenger airline Centrum Air, which belongs to Centrum Holding expanded its fleet to nine aircrafts after receiving a second A320neo equipment delivered from Toulouse, France
Shymkent airport expands its global connections
Shymkent Airport in Kazakhstan launched its new passenger terminal, enhancing international connectivity and attracting new airlines on May 2025
Kazakh SCAT Airlines launched seven new international routes, including flights to China, Europe, Egypt, and South Korea, following the terminal’s full opening at the end of May 2025
Kazakhstan’s FlyArystan adds new airbus to its fleet
Kazakhstan’s budget airline FlyArystan expanded its fleet to 27 Airbus aircraft with a new leased A320neo, enhancing passenger capacity and regional connectivity
FlyArystan fully transitioned to its own air operator certificate, aiming to increase domestic flights and launch new international routes including ex Karaganda to Istanbul and ex Almaty to Tashkent
Sariosiyo airport reopens after 30-year of closure
Uzbekistan’s Sariosiyo Airport resumed its commercial operations flight from Tashkent with a regional carrier Silk Avia, reopening on 30 May 2025
The route will be served twice weekly by ATR-72-600 aircraft, making Sariosiyo the fifth regional airport in Uzbekistan to reopen in recent years
Uzbekistan Airways and Air India launched interline partnership
Uzbekistan Airways and Air India entered an interline agreement, allowing passengers to travel on a single ticket with coordinated baggage handling between India and Uzbekistan
The partnership expanded travel options across both countries, connecting major Indian cities to Tashkent and other destinations in Uzbekistan
Samarkand Airport became the OES air hub
Samarkand Airport was officially recognized as an aviation hub of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) during the meeting held in Tehran, Iran in early June 2025
The Tehran Declaration includes Uzbekistan’s initiative to create a digital transport and customs office to streamline and speed up cross-border trade across ECO states
Changi Airport explores resumption of direct flights to Uzbekistan
Changi Airport Group in Singapore is exploring the resumption of direct flights between Singapore and Tashkent due to growing travel demand, with discussions ongoing as of May 2025
Direct flights would cut travel time from over 10 hours with stopovers to around 7 hours, boosting tourism and benefiting the Uzbek diaspora in Singapore

South Korea to support Tashkent–Andijan toll road project
Uzbekistan and South Korea discussed cooperation on building the Tashkent–Andijan toll highway and introducing AI-based smart traffic systems and digital toll collection on 6 June 2025
