Uzbekistan's national carrier Uzbekistan Airways restarted daily passenger services between Tashkent and the UAE on 19 March 2026
Operations on this route resumed after authorities temporarily suspended flights to the region on 28 February 2026, due to armed conflict in the Middle East
VietJet Air expands European network via Kazakhstan
Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air will begin twice-weekly flights ex Hanoi, Vietnam to Prague, Czech Republic via Almaty, Kazakhstan in July, utilizing newly granted fifth-freedom traffic rights to pick up and discharge passengers in Kazakhstan
Strategic expansion follows the 2025 acquisition of a controlling stake in Kazakhstan’s Qazaq Air by VietJet’s parent company, paving the way for further intermediate-stop flights to destinations like Germany, France and the UK

Transnational railway project set for launch
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan mainline is scheduled for completion by 2030, a move expected to transform Kyrgyzstan from a "dead-end" into a major transit power
Construction on the 532.5-kilometer project, which began in 2023, aims to reduce cargo delivery times and expand access to foreign markets as a vital segment of the broader China-to-Europe rail network
