SCAT expands its aircraft maintenance operations
Kazakhstan’s SCAT Airlines increased base maintenance work by 50% in the first half of 2025, completing 15 C-checks in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 4 September 2025

Asman Airlines secures financing for jet fleet expansion
Kyrgyzstan’s Asman Airlines obtained $55 million financing to acquire two Airbus A320/A321s or Boeing 737NGs, with the deal expected to close in September 2025
The aircraft will be the carrier’s first narrowbodies, following its launch in September 2024 with two Dash 8-400s aircrafts
Fitch assigns first-time rating to Uzbekistan Airports
Fitch Ratings assigned Uzbekistan Airports a first-time 'BB' long-term issuer default rating with a stable outlook
The company served 7.06 million passengers in the first half of 2025, up 10.9% year-on-year
Asman Airlines expanded its fleet with new aircraft
Kyrgyzstan's airline Asman Airlines received its third Dash 8-400 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on September 2, with a fourth aircraft expected by the end of 2025
Once all four Dash 8-400s equipments are in service, the carrier will be able to operate flights to all 11 domestic airports in Kyrgyzstan
MIAT Cargo launched operations to Navoi Airport
MIAT Mongolian Airlines Cargo operated its first flight to Navoi, Uzbekistan delivering 26.8 tons of breeding sheep on 27 August 2025
The airline plans 106 flights by the end of 2025, transporting livestock to Uzbekistan and agricultural products to Mongolia
Kam Air and Uzbekistan Airways signed cooperation agreement
The largest private Afghan airline Kam Air signed a strategic partnership with Uzbekistan Airways to improve connectivity between Asia, Europe and the US
Passengers will benefit from single-ticket booking, coordinated schedules, shorter transfers and simplified baggage handling

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan launched new rail link
The first container block train departed from Tashkent to Altynkol station on the Kazakhstan–China border, covering 1,300 km in about two days
The project was implemented by Uztemiryulcontainer a joint-stock company and operator of the container park of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari together with Kedentransservice the largest logistics terminal operator in Kazakhstan, under a February 2025 memorandum
Uzbekistan promotes SCO rail corridor integration
At the SCO Plus summit President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed linking the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway with the Trans-Afghan corridor to boost regional connectivity on 1 September 2025
Uzbekistan also suggested holding an annual SCO Invest forum from 2026 and creating an innovation and technology hub network to foster cooperation in advanced sectors
