This week we are reporting on Uzbekistan's plans to build a cargo terminal, passenger flights to connect Tashkent and Hainan, and more.

Uzbekistan plans to build a new cargo terminal in Tashkent Airport by 2025 (source)
● A new cargo terminal in Tashkent International Airport will cover 5.2 hectares and handle up to 120,000 tons of cargo per year
● In addition to that, a cargo warehouse spanning 12,000 square meters will be built. Refrigeration and freezing facilities across 1,000 square meters, will also be installed offering a range of temperature conditions
Uzbekistan Airways to connect Tashkent and Makhachkala (source)
● Uzbekistan Airways to launch direct passenger flights ex Tashkent to Makhachkala VV starting on 9 May 2024
● Flights will be operated every Thursday on A320 aircraft
Uzbekistan is set to initiate weekly flights to Hainan (source)
● During the business tourism forum held in Tashkent, the representatives of Hainan Weidu International Travel and Prestige Travel discussed plans to launch direct flights from Uzbekistan to Hainan province in China to increase travel numbers
● It is planned to operate weekly flights starting from June 2024, to gradually raise the number of passenger flights to three times per week
Air Astana resume flights to Seoul (source)
● Air Astana will resume direct passenger flights ex Astana to Seoul from 15 June 2024
● The flights will be operated twice a week using Airbus A321LR equipment
Qatar Airways to connect Doha and Tashkent (source)
● Qatar Airways is set to launch direct flights ex Doha to Tashkent VV starting from 2 June 2024
● The flights will be operate 4 times a week on Airbus A320 aircraft
My Freighter signed an interline agreement with APG Airlines Cargo
● My Freighter, a fast-growing airline in Uzbekistan, which provides cargo air charter and passenger transportation services has signed an interline agreement with APG Airlines Cargo
● This beneficial partnership provides customers with greater connectivity and a wider service portfolio

Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to eliminate permit forms for transit transportation (source)
● Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are set to simplify road transport transit by canceling permit forms for cargo vehicles when crossing the territories of both states to reduce delivery time
● After the protocol is ratified by both countries the new changes will enter into force
