Tashkent region considers site options for new airport
Authorities in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region are assessing multiple locations, including Yangiul, Akhangaran and Urtachirchik districts, for the construction of a new airport to serve the capital
The facility, planned on a 1,200-hectare site about 17 km south of the current Tashkent Airport, aims to meet projected passenger demand of 15 million annually by 2030
Air Astana reports profit and expands route network
Kazakhstan’s Air Astana Group reported a $10.7 million net profit in the first half of 2025, with revenues rising 12.1% year-on-year to $658.2 million and capacity growing 17.8%
The airline launched 20 new international routes in Asia, including services to Guangzhou, Mumbai, Tbilisi and Baku, and expanded partnerships such as a codeshare with China Southern Airlines
Centrum Air to connect Uzbekistan and Denmark
Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air will launch direct regular passenger flights ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Copenhagen, Denmark VV on 2 October 2025
Flights will operate two times per week using Airbus A320-200 equipment
Asman Airlines completes first flight to Naryn
Kyrgyzstan’s Asman Airlines operated its first technical flight to Naryn, Kyrgyzstan to test runway and infrastructure readiness ahead of regular commercial services starting in September 2025
The airport, located at 2,133 meters altitude, can now accommodate aircraft up to 22 tons, including An-2, An-26, An-28, Yak-40 and Dash Q400 types of aircraft
Kazarman airport is set to resume flights
Kyrgyzstan’s Kazarman Airport will resume regular passenger flights with state carrier Asman Airlines launching service to Bishkek in early September 2025
The reopened airport features upgraded runway, taxiways, parking areas and terminal, and can accommodate aircraft up to 22 tons for daylight operations

Tashkent region to build new railway line
New railway is planned to connect Bekabad to Tashkent via Bukinsky, Pskent and the city of Nurafshan in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region
Construction is expected to start in 2026, with the line aimed at improving regional connectivity and supporting passenger and freight transportationm
Xianglushang Station launches rail service to Kazakhstan
China’s Xianglushang Station in Hubei Province launched direct cargo rail services to Kazakhstan in August 2025, dispatching its first train with 51 containers of automotive components worth $2.3 million
The new route via Alashankou shortens transit time by two days and reduces delivery costs by 15% compared to the previous route through Wujia Mountain Station
