TezJet to launch direct passenger flights to New Delhi


  • Kyrgyzstan’s private airline TezJet is set to launch direct passenger flights ex Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to New Delhi, India VV on 7 December 2025

  • The airline will operate the route once a week using McDonnell Douglas MD-83 equipment


Air Marakanda achieved ISO certification


  • Uzbekistan’s Air Marakanda, the management company of Samarkand International Airport (SKD), has become the first in the country’s civil aviation sector to pass an ISO audit

  • The company successfully completed certification for an integrated management system covering ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards in September 2025


Air Astana group to expand routes to the Middle East and Asia

  • Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana and its low-cost subsidiary FlyArystan are set to expand their networks across the Middle East and Asia starting autumn 2025

  • FlyArystan will launch weekly flights ex Aktau, Kazakhstan to Dubai, UAE on 29 November 2025, while Air Astana will resume and increase services ex Almaty and Shymkent to Jeddah, Medina, Male, Phu Quoc, Dubai, Bangkok and Phuket using Airbus A320neo and A321LR aircrafts


Vietjet Qazaqstan plans major fleet expansion

  • Kazakhstan’s Vietjet Qazaqstan airline is preparing for a major growth phase after being acquired and rebranded by Vietnam’s Sovico Group earlier this year

  • The airline plans to shift from regional turboprops to jet aircraft, introducing a low-cost model and expanding routes ex Kazakhstan to Southeast Asia and key global destinations


Uzbekistan adopts new ICAO code and airspace standards

  • Uzbekistan officially switched its ICAO prefix from “UT” to “UZ,” marking a new stage in defining its national airspace identity on 2 October 2025

  • The country also unified its transition altitude to 13,000 ft and level to FL150, aligning with regional standards and improving flight safety and efficiency


SkyGuard Airlines expanded its cargo fleet

  • Uzbekistan’s cargo carrier SkyGuard Airlines received its second Boeing 757-200PCF freighter supplied by the U.S.-based aircraft leasing and maintenance company AerSale

  • The addition supports the airline’s focus on e-commerce and postal-courier transportation, aiming to position Uzbekistan as a key logistics hub in international trade


Etihad Airways to launch direct passenger flights to Tashkent

  • The UAE’s national airline Etihad Airways is set to launch regular passenger flights ex Abu Dhabi, UAE to Tashkent, Uzbekistan VV in March 2026

  • The airline will operate flights using Airbus A320 and A321 aircrafts

Uzbekistan strengthens regional transport cooperation within OTS


  • Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of developing new railway corridors, including the Middle Corridor and the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan route, to enhance trade and connectivity across the Turkic region on 6–7 October 2025

  • The country also supports the Trans-Afghan and Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Turkey corridors, aiming to boost transit efficiency and reinforce its position as a key logistics hub in Central Asia


New container terminal launched in Almaty


  • New multifunctional Burunday Container Terminal (BCT) began operations in Almaty region, Kazakhstan offering container handling and general cargo services with direct rail and highway access on 2 October 2025

  • The terminal operates under the Solvo.TOS digital management system, enabling real-time automation of cargo operations and logistics processes to meet growing transit demand across Kazakhstan
