Qanot Sharq is set to launch flights to the U.S.
Uzbekistan’s first private airline Qanot Sharq has applied to launch ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to New York, USA regular passenger flights with a stop in Budapest, pending FAA approval
The airline will become Central Asia’s first private carrier to operate flights to the U.S., announced in October 2025
AirAsia launched direct passenger flights to Uzbekistan
Malaysia’s low-cost carrier AirAsia X has launched direct scheduled passenger flights ex Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Tashkent, Uzbekistan VV on 15 October 2025
The airline will operate flights three times a week using Airbus A330 equipment
Uzbekistan starts building new international airport in Tashkent
Uzbekistan has launched construction of a new international airport southeast of Tashkent, near the planned city of New Tashkent
Built by a Saudi-Japanese-Korean consortium, the $2.5 billion first phase will handle up to 20 million passengers and 129,000 tons of cargo annually
Tashkent Airport launched online customs declaration
Passengers can now complete customs declarations electronically via kiosks or the “Passenger Declaration” mobile app
The system is currently in test mode at Tashkent Airport, with nationwide rollout planned on 1 November 2025

Uzbekistan launched multimodal cargo services to Eastern Europe
Uzbekistan’s Uztemiryulcontainer begun multimodal cargo transport operations from the Sergeli logistics center in Uzbekistan to seaports in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria via the CASCA+ corridor
The first train, carrying 39 containers of urea, transited through Georgia’s Poti port and reached Burgas, Piraeus, Naples and La Spezia within 25–30 days, supporting faster and more competitive exports from Uzbekistan to European markets on 13 October 2025
Dubai’s DP World is set to build major dry port in Tashkent
Dubai-based logistics company DP World and Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Invest have established a joint venture, DP World Tashkent, to develop and manage a multimodal logistics terminal in the Yangi Avlod industrial zone of Tashkent’s Yangihayot district
DP World project worth $288 million will be implemented in three stages, with the first phase including a rail terminal capable of handling 150,000 TEU per year and a 63,000 m² warehouse complex expected to launch by the end of 2026, aiming to enhance regional trade connectivity across Central Asia
