Uzbekistan's private carrier Fly Khiva is set to inaugurate direct regular passenger flights ex Termez, Uzbekistan to Istanbul, Türkiye VV on 30 May 2026
All flights will be operated twice weekly using Boeing 757-300 aircraft
Royal Jordanian to commence flights to Uzbekistan
Jordanian carrier Royal Jordanian will launch direct regular passenger flights ex Amman, Jordan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan VV on 30 June 2026
All flights will be operated twice weekly using Embraer 195-E2 equipment
AirAsia to boost Central Asian routes with new aircraft
Asian budget carrier AirAsia has placed a record order for 150 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, becoming the launch customer for a high-density variant capable of carrying up to 160 passengers, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2028
The airline plans to deploy the new aircraft across ASEAN and Central Asian routes, enabling higher flight frequencies and optimized profit margins compared to its current widebody operations in the region
Almaty Airport digitized dangerous goods handling
Kazakhstan's largest airport in Almaty has implemented the IATA DG AutoCheck digital system to accelerate the processing and enhance the safety of dangerous goods shipments
The automated solution streamlines physical inspections and regulatory compliance checks for a major hub that processes over half of the country's total air cargo volume and recently reported substantial first-quarter growth

Central Asian nations propose joint cross-border logistics hub
Plans for "Dostuk" ("Friendship"), a new 100-hectare trade and economic park located at the tri-border junction of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, were recently presented to the Kyrgyz president
The proposed facility will feature administrative, production, commercial, and logistics zones alongside tourist infrastructure celebrating the Silk Road, though specific project costs and timelines have not yet been disclosed
Uzbekistan began construction on new regional railway line
Uzbekistan Railways has commenced construction on a new 110-kilometer electrified railway line that will connect several key regional centers, including Nurafshon, Pskent, Buka, Bekabad, Bayaut, and Yangiyul
The infrastructure project is specifically designed to bypass residential areas and avoid road intersections, featuring new stations, overpasses, and bridges, although official costs and completion timelines remain undisclosed
