Turkmenistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia with no direct access to global sea routes. It is one of the least accessible countries in the world in terms of transport, creating logistical challenges for importers and exporters, both inside and outside the country. Ashgabat, the capital city and the main air hub of the country, has no meaningful presence of international air carriers. The country’s flag carrier - Turkmenistan Airlines (IATA code: T5) - is the only airline with stable operations but limited international flight network, operating out of Ashgabat airport.
