Emirates SkyCargo launched Central Asian freighter route
UAE carrier Emirates SkyCargo launched a dedicated freighter service ex Dubai, UAE to Almaty, Kazakhstan marking the airline's first cargo destination in Central Asia on 16 June 2026
The new route will operate once a week using Boeing 777F aircraft
Uzbekistan Airways reduced flights to Russia
Uzbekistan Airways announced a temporary reduction in flight frequencies and cancellations on several routes to its primary international market in Russia due to a shortage of jet fuel and rising costs on 12 June 2026
The service disruptions affecting flights from Tashkent and nine other regional airports are considered temporary, with industry sources expecting a full recovery of the route network following the initial announcement
Air Serbia plans expansion into Central Asia
Air Serbia announced long-term plans to expand its flight network into Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, with active preparations already underway to launch year-round flights to Yerevan on 9 June 2026
The airline will leverage its existing European network to drive connecting traffic for these new markets, though specific launch dates for flights to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan depend on future aircraft availability

Tajikistan proposed expanding regional connectivity by developing new international transit corridors linking Central Asia to Europe and South Asia during a regional transport committee meeting in Mongolia on 16 June 2026
The Tajik delegation presented plans for a multimodal route to European markets via Iran and Türkiye, alongside an alternative Tajikistan-Pakistan-China corridor designed to provide access to Arabian Sea ports
