Uzbekistan’s airports processed over 15 million passengers in 2025 marking 11.1% increase over 2024
Passenger traffic has surged 90% since 2022 and now exceeds 2.2 times pre-pandemic 2019 levels reflecting network expansion and airport modernization
Air Samarkand is set to connect Tashkent and Abu Dhabi
Uzbekistan-based carrier Air Samarkand will launch seasonal passenger flights ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Abu Dhabi, UAE on 26 December 2025
The airline plans to operate the route once weekly using Airbus A321 aircraft
Qanot Sharq becomes first XLR operator in the region
Uzbek private airline Qanot Sharq took delivery of its first A321-200neo XLR aircraft via a long-term lease with Air Lease
The aircraft will support international expansion, with routes planned to Asia and the US and features 190 seats in a two-class layout with Airbus Airspace Cabin amenities
Centrum Air plans direct flights to Manchester
Uzbek private airline Centrum Air is set to operate direct passenger flights ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Manchester, UK on 30 March 2026
The airline will operate the route twice weekly using Airbus A321neo aircraft
SCAT Airlines launches first international route outside Kazakhstan
Kazakh carrier SCAT Airlines launched its first route outside Kazakhstan, operating direct passenger flights ex Prague, Czech Republic to Sanya, China on 21 December 2025
The airline operates the route once weekly using a Boeing 737 MAX-9 with 213 all-economy seats, making a technical stop in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan for refueling
Qanot Sharq launched direct passenger flights to London
Uzbek private airline Qanot Sharq launched direct passenger flights ex Tashkent, Uzbekistan to London Gatwick, UK on 15 December 2025
The airline operates the route twice weekly using Airbus A321LR/XLR aircraft
My Freighter partnered with Canadian carrier
Uzbekistan’s largest cargo airline My Freighter signed an interline agreement with Cargojet to improve cargo connectivity between Central Asia and North America via Europe
The partnership expands My Freighter’s global network adding Canada to its existing interline agreements with airlines in the US, Europe and Asia

Kazakhstan completes modernization of Kazygurt border checkpoint
Kazygurt and other checkpoints fully upgraded reducing border crossing time to about 30 minutes and increasing daily capacity to 1,000 vehicles, overall traffic rose 2.5 times
Modern facilities include automated cargo corridors, scanners, X-ray and thermal inspection and digital customs procedures, with full e-declaration system planned by 2026
